Shashank Sharma graduated with a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore in 2013. Shashank also holds an LL.M. (with Distinction) in Law and Economics as part of the European Master’s in Law and Economics (EMLE) program jointly offered by Erasmus University Rotterdam (Netherlands), University of Hamburg (Germany), and Aix-Marseille University (France).

Shashank has more than ten years of experience in competition law and policy, mixing both competition law practice and academic research. Shashank started his legal career in 2013 at India’s premier competition law practice at AZB & Partners where he was a Senior Associate.

At AZB & Partners, his work covered the entire spectrum of competition law, including:

• More than 40 merger control approvals
• Behavioural investigations into cartels and abuse of dominance
• Numerous advisory and compliance mandates

Currently, Shashank is awaiting his Ph.D. award in Competition Law and Economics as part of the European Doctorate in Law and Economics (EDLE), focusing on multi-sided digital markets.
